Cuticle Nipper – Scissor Type – 10 cm

Cuticle Nipper – Scissor Type – 10 cm

A hangnail catches on everything — your sock, your sleeve, the towel — and pulling at it only makes it worse. The Cuticle Nipper Scissor Type is made to remove it cleanly in one small cut, so it stops catching and you stop picking at it.

Unlike a spring-loaded nipper that you squeeze shut, this one uses scissor-style ring handles. Your fingers stay in control of how far the blades close, which matters when you are working within a millimetre or two of living skin. The fine, angled cutting tip sits at a natural angle to the nail fold, so you can see the piece you intend to trim before the blades meet it.

At 10 cm it is small enough to sit in a manicure kit or travel pouch, and the ground stainless steel edges keep their bite through regular home use. It suits fingernails and toenails equally, and is designed for trimming loose cuticle and hangnails only — not for cutting back healthy, attached cuticle.

Key Benefits

  • Remove a catching hangnail in one clean cut instead of tearing at it
  • See exactly what you are about to trim, thanks to the angled tip
  • Control the cut with your fingers rather than squeezing a spring closed
  • Tidy the nail fold without nicking the skin beside it
  • Fine enough for the small pieces ordinary nail scissors cannot reach
  • Small enough to keep in a manicure kit, travel pouch or bathroom drawer
  • Stainless steel edges that stay sharp through regular home use

Features

  • Scissor-type ring handles for controlled, familiar operation
  • Fine, angled cutting tip for precise access to the nail fold
  • Sharp ground blades that meet cleanly along their edge
  • 10 cm compact length
  • Stainless steel construction, easy to clean and dry
  • Suitable for both fingernails and toenails
  • Reusable personal grooming tool

How to Use

  1. Wash and dry your hands, and make sure the nipper is clean and dry before you start.
  2. Soften the skin first — a warm shower or a few minutes soaking in warm water makes loose cuticle far easier to trim and much less likely to tear.
  3. Dry the nail area, then gently ease the cuticle back with a soft towel or a cuticle stick. Do not force it.
  4. Identify only the loose, lifted piece of skin or hangnail you intend to remove.
  5. Hold the nipper like a pair of scissors and position the angled tip so you can see the cutting edge against that loose piece.
  6. Make one small, clean cut close to the base of the loose skin, without pulling.
  7. Leave the healthy cuticle attached to the nail. It seals the nail fold and protects against infection.
  8. Apply a little moisturiser or cuticle oil afterwards to keep the skin supple.
  9. Clean and dry the nipper thoroughly after use and store it safely.

Ideal For

  • Removing hangnails and loose cuticle at home
  • Tidying the nail fold as part of a regular manicure or pedicure
  • Fine trimming that ordinary nail scissors are too large for
  • People who prefer scissor handles over a spring-action nipper
  • Travel and manicure kits where space is limited
  • Fingernail and toenail grooming routines

Important Care and Safety

  • Trim only loose, lifted skin and hangnails. Do not cut healthy cuticle that is still attached to the nail — it is there to keep bacteria out of the nail fold.
  • Never force or pull the skin. If a piece does not cut cleanly, leave it and soften the area again first.
  • Do not use on inflamed, infected, swollen, bleeding or broken skin.
  • Keep the nipper clean, dry and for individual use only. Do not share it between people.
  • Store safely and keep out of reach of children.
  • Sharp blades. Handle with care and check the tip before each use.
  • If you have diabetes, poor circulation, reduced sensation or a weakened immune system, do not cut your own cuticles. Seek advice from a podiatrist or other qualified healthcare professional.
  • If redness, swelling, pain or discharge develops around a nail, stop and seek medical advice.
